Who are we? We are the 7th grade from Kadrina Secondary School, Estonia. Our class teacher is Eve Kanger. We are 27 pupils, 17 are girls and 10 are boys. We are very active, quite normal, friendly, but sometimes a little bit stubborn. I suppose it isn't coming from us - we are the Dragon year children and our age is like that. Our whole class took part in the project called "Hello Spring" ("Tere Kevad"). We also take part in school activities and organize our own activities. If the weather is fine we arrange them outside and usually they take place in Neeruti. It is interesting to go to see nature. We have penfriends in Denmark and when we finished 4th grade we visited them. We do common projects and hope to make the summary here in Kadrina with them. "Hello Spring" is a project we all did something for. The work was organized by groups. Every leader of the group was in the leaders' group; and that also had a leader. All the work by itself was interesting, but it needed some time and persistence. We found enthusiasm in watching nature, so three girls from our class went to Tallinn (Tallinn is our capital city) to a contest of bird voices. Every project gives us something. This taught us a sense of duty and to see what is happening in nature and also arranging some activities. But everything didn't come out the way we wanted... Activities... We went to Sagadi. This thing was called "Forest through our minds". While we were sliding on the ice in the park we saw a white-stork and later in the forest we heard a wren sing. Estonians don`t celebrate Halloween, but we are celebrating a little bit of a different thing at a little bit of a different time. All the girls were there. We were dressed in witch costumes. The witches tested their power. During a party we got help from a spell and danced around the fire. We also made some reports of the birds and flowers that give us the songs that show that the spring has started. It was interesting to hear and see our peers' performance. We went to Neeruti by bikes. There we found a globe-flower, heard nightingales and we smelt the smell of blooming bird-cherries. On the 31st of May we went back to Neeruti again and did some forest observations. All through the summer we observed the changing nature, even on our class trip. Still we will keep our eyes open. And please keep your eyes open, too! |
